Description: For students who struggle with disordered eating, eating disorders, and body image concerns and seek to form a space and community to mindfully explore authenticity and body autonomy.

Description: A Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) program designed to give college students with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) the knowledge and skills necessary for academic, personal, and social success.

Description: A space to support students as they navigate complex family dynamics, including high conflict or violence in the family, emotionally unavailable caregivers, divorce or loss of a caregiver, and family members facing addiction or other mental health challenges. This group witll focus on practical ways to cope with complicated family dynamics and offer a space to try out new approaches to relationships in a supportive environment.

Description: Distance and other learners often face unique challenges — less structure, fewer spontaneous connections, and the pressure to self-motivate constantly. You are invited to join this 1-Hour Virtual Support Group for Distance Learners. This support group will be semi structured, open, and flexible, it will focus on relevant topics for distant learners. All are welcome!

Description: Sista Talk is a support/discussion group to honor the experiences of Black female students, and to provide support around daily stressors, relationships, and other topics of interest.

Description: Engage in art-based activity for self-expression, stress reduction and emotional awareness. All art supplies are provided! Free food sponsored by Spartan Dining on 8/27, 9/24, 10/22 & 11/19.

Description: Survivor Space is a peer-based support group for survivors of all forms of interpersonal violence. If you have experienced harm by another person in the past, or you are currently experiencing harm by someone you know, this group is designed for you. Survivor Space uses empowered-choice making and community-based support as tools in a survivor’s healing journey. Topics covered in the group can include resilience building, boundary setting, healthy relationships, conflict management, and increasing self-esteem. The topics are driven by participants- we define what healing looks like for us. Drop-ins to this group are welcome. If you have additional questions about Survivor Space, would like to make an accommodations request for this group, or would like to speak with an advocate, please call 336-334-9839 to schedule an intake appointment.

Learn practical strategies to manage stress, build healthy habits, and stay grounded during your first semester. You’ll also get introduced to essential UNCG resources that are here to help you thrive. Join us and take your first step toward a balanced, successful college experience!

Description: College life can be stressful, and sometimes it’s hard to know where to start when stress begins to take over. This supportive three-week group will help students better understand how stress shows up in the body, learn practical coping skills, and develop strategies for managing difficult moments. Through discussion, interactive activities, and skill-building exercises, participants will identify tools that work best for them and create a personalized plan for ongoing self-care. In the final session, students will build a 5-4-3-2-1 grounding baggie and practice a guided meditation, leaving with tangible resources they can use to feel more balanced, grounded, and confident in navigating college life.

Description: Come join a supportive 3-part social workshop for students seeking to build social confidence, improve communication skills, and to create meaningful connections. Areas of focus will include learning how to un-mask, reading social cues, and navigating small and long talk in an authentic, low pressure environment.

Let’s Talk

“Let’s Talk” is a drop-in service that offers informal, private consultation with a UNCG Counseling and Psychological Services counselor. 

Let’s Talk consultations are … 

  • FREE for UNCG students 
  • Offered first-come, first-served (no appointment necessary) 
  • Typically about 20–25 minutes in length 
  • Informal, and not a substitute for counseling 
  • Not appropriate for urgent concerns or mental health emergencies 

Let’s Talk is not a substitute for counseling and is not mental health treatment. Let’s Talk counselors can listen to specific problems, help explore solutions, and introduce you to what it’s like to speak with a member of our staff.
