Cold/flu Questions or Concerns
I am having cold/flu symptoms – how can I get tested?
- Make an appointment online to see a provider at Student Health or call 336-334-5340 to schedule an appointment or
- Purchase an at-home test kit. Tests for COVID and FLU are available for purchase at the Student Health Services Pharmacy, conveniently located on campus at 107 Gray Drive (across from Moore Strong Residence Hall).
I tested positive – what do I do? When can I return to class or work?
- Current CDC guidelines say it is safe for individuals to be around others once you have not had a fever for 24 hours without taking fever-reducing medications (Advil, Tylenol, Dayquil, etc.) AND your symptoms have started to improve. Once you are out and around others, you should wear a mask for an additional 5 days to protect others.
I have been exposed to someone who tested positive. What do I do?
- If you are not having symptoms, continue with your normal activities. If you develop symptoms, you should test for COVID/flu.
- If you do not develop symptoms, you should test 5 days after your last exposure.
- If you test positive, follow instructions above.
Can you give me a class note?
See Student Health Services policy regarding class notes here. Please do NOT schedule an appointment with Student Health simply for a class note.
