Description: This weekly group is open to all Latin-identified students, regardless of identities, nationality, or racial/ethnic background. A supportive atmosphere to make new connections, engage in fun activities and conversations around topics that are relevant to Latinx students. A willingness to engage and honor group members’ privacy are the only requirements to attend.

Description:  The grad student support group provides opportunities for support, community, connection and celebration.  Topics discussed in the group may include (but are not limited to) personal, professional, and family relationships, academic concerns and achievements, adjustment to grad school, stress, thriving, self-esteem/confidence, identity development (personal and professional), career issues, and social and cultural identities.  Informational screening is required.

Description:  For women students who struggle with disordered eating, eating disorders, and body image concerns and seek to form a space and community to mindfully explore authenticity and body autonomy.

Description:  Feel sad, isolated, angry, stressed? Want to improve relationships and how you talk about your emotions? Men’s Group is a supportive space for men to connect and share about personal experiences.

Description:  A Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) program designed to give college students with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) the knowledge and skills necessary for academic, personal, and social success.

Description:  This group is intended to support (undergraduate and graduate )international students to discuss the unique challenges that international students face. It provides a space to explore cross-cultural adjustment issues and how those impacts your daily life. It also provides an opportunity to connect with other students from around the world and to build friendships. The group will improve your coping skills, strengthen your connection with the international student  community and increase your knowledge of resources to make the most of your time here at UNCG.

Description:  This semester we will be reading is “At the Dark End of the Street: A New History of the Civil Rights Movement from Rosa Parks to the Rise of Black Power” by Danielle L. McGuire. This book club will be dialogue based and focused on the importance of highlighting the voices that are often silenced in the political movements that have shaped the lives of many today. We will be discussing the contents of the book and the way these concepts have shaped our idea of violence and sexual harm. TW: The contents of this book may be difficult to discuss and contain themes of violence, sexual assault/rape, racism, and abuse.

Description:  Creative expression through poetry, dance, mindful movement, drawing, collage and additional forms of art based mediums in order to support healing and processing of various types of trauma.   This group offers creative coping skills, exploration of self and provides an alternative way to process trauma while supporting individual and collective healing.

Description:  Restoring union with the body and reclaiming the body as one’s own through asana (poses) and dhyana (meditation) is the foundation of this group.  Coming back into the body is part of coming back into wholeness during trauma healing.  The time consists of guided meditation, minimal asana with positive self-affirmation, and time for sharing.  This group is intended for survivors of trauma.

Description: Sista Talk is a  Support/discussion group for African American Women  to discuss shared experiences and provide support to one another around daily stressors, social justice issues, relationships and other topics of interest.

Description:  This group will create a community for people to heal together. Our goal is to provide a space of connection and support for survivors who have been impacted by sexual violence (sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, etc.) Our victim advocate will help facilitate discussions on trauma, shared & individual experiences, resources, and more.

Description:  A place for LGBTQIAP+ people to explore the unique experiences, challenges, and strengths that come along with their identities. This group aims to help people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and romantic orientations be their authentic selves.

Description:  This group will provide support and constructive feedback around relationship concerns and information on how to develop a healthy relationship from a therapist and peers in a safe environment. Group topics will include identifying emotional needs in a relationship, developing healthy relationship boundaries, and assertive communication.
