Chesley “Ches” Kennedy

Coordinator of Spartan Recovery @ UNC Greensboro

Ches teaches a course in the Religious Studies Department at UNCG defining spirituality in all its aspects, and how spirituality is related to the 12-Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. He has a Bachelor of Arts from UNC Greensboro in Religious Studies and a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School. He received a Substance Abuse Counseling Certificate from East Carolina University and is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. Ches teaches Mental Health First Aid, QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer), and Mindfulness and Meditation practices (KORU).

Christina is pursuing a major in Classical Studies and a Minor in Chemistry, complemented by an associate degree in automotive systems technology and boasting over 11 years of experience as an ASE certified Automotive Technician. Christina discovered a profound sense of belonging and community at UNCG’s Spartan Recovery. Driven by a passion for making a difference, she aspires to become a medical doctor, combining her diverse background and caring spirit to leave a lasting impact on people’s lives.

Trinity Mustico, NCCPSS

Trinity is a senior, majoring in political science. Trinity is active in Spartan Recovery @ UNCG’s social wellness goals and has co-presented with other students at recovery in higher education conferences. Trinity is certified in mental health first aid and as a peer support specialist. Recovery has given Trinity a world without chaos and collegiate recovery support has given her a sense of belonging.

Regan Hallett '26

Regan is a student studying American Sign Language Interpretation with a strong commitment to the Deaf community and to supporting individuals in recovery from substance use disorder. She is a Certified Peer Support Specialist in North Carolina and is passionate about bridging accessibility and recovery support. Regan hopes to integrate these two areas in her future work.

Hey! My name is Nina, I came to UNCG from Raleigh with my two older brothers. I’m currently a student at UNCG majoring in social work, I am also a North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist. You’ll often find me hanging out at SRP, rock climbing, doing art or attending outside meetings. In the future, I’m hoping to get my masters and become a counselor or therapist, specializing in Addiction.

I’m Henry Keltner! You’ll often find me at the Spartan Recovery lounge on campus, whether at one of our weekly meetings (12 step, speaker sessions, and more) or just hanging out. I’m always excited to meet others who are interested in recovery. I believe that healthy hobbies are important—I love scuba diving, fishing and am a nursing student. Looking forward to connecting with you at SRP! 

John Metzger '26

Born on October 31, 1996, John Metzger embarked on a transformative journey towards sobriety, celebrating his sober date on July 24, 2018, with the invaluable support of a 12-step recovery program. With a deep passion for helping others navigate their own recovery paths, John now works at Spartan Recovery, where he dedicates his time to support and empower individuals in their quest for healing and personal growth. 

Arindam Spiering

He is a third-year Media Studies student with a strong interest in communication, storytelling, and digital culture. He is passionate about understanding how media shapes society and enjoys exploring creative approaches to digital and visual storytelling. In addition to his studies, Arindam is actively involved in his campus recovery program, demonstrating resilience, personal growth, and a commitment to supporting a positive community.
