Alexander Smith

As a founding student member of Spartan Recovery Program, I am honored to begin working as the Undergraduate Assistant for the 2017-2018 school year. I am excited to continue supporting students in recovery while reducing the stigma associated with addiction, strengthening UNCG as a recovery-oriented campus. I will graduate from UNCG in May 2018 with a BS in Economics and plan to continue at UNCG, pursuing my Masters in Applied Economics. As a person in recovery from substance use disorder since 2012, I share my recovery story as an advocate for comprehensive recovery support services. I have served as Interim President of the Guilford County Naloxone Task Force, am currently an Executive Board member of CURE_Triad, and am affiliated with other coalitions in the community. I enjoy camping in the mountains and anything that = adventure.
