The problem of alcohol and drug misuse in the United States is serious and pervasive. However, despite the challenges described above, this is also a time of great hope and opportunity:

Research on alcohol and drug use, and addiction, has led to an increase of knowledge and to one clear conclusion: Addiction to alcohol or drugs is a chronic but treatable brain disease that requires medical intervention, not moral judgment.

Recovery Zone Online Course

Recovery Zone is an innovative program developed by the Counseling Center, Wellness Center, and Spartan Recovery Program (SRP) at the University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG) which aims to build a network of allies to students in recovery from addictions to alcohol and/or other drugs.


WRAP Will Help You:

  • •Discover your own simple, safe wellness tools
  • •Develop a list of things to do every day to stay as well as possible
  • •Identify upsetting events, early warning signs and signs that things have gotten much worse and, using wellness tools, develop action plans for responding at these times
  • •Create a crisis plan
  • •Create a post-crisis plan
