Storing unwanted and expired medications in the home increases the risk of misuse and places children, seniors, and pets at risk for accidental poisoning. Yes, drugs in the home can be even more dangerous, as they can find their way into the hands of children or potential addicts.

Drop your leftover medications off at Student Health Services free and easy. Safely dispose of your unwanted and expired medications the right way by visiting us and looking for the green receptacle by the front entrance of the Student Health Center.

Acceptable Items:

• • Pills, Tablets, Capsules
• • Ointments, Creams and Lotions
• • Powders
• • Inhalers, Nebulizer Solutions
• • Medication Patches (i.e. Lidocaine patch, fentanyl patch etc.)

Unacceptable Items:

• • Aerosol Spray Cans
• • Alcohol or hydrogen peroxide
• • Needles, syringes or sharp containers
• • More than 4 oz of liquid
• • Trash
• • Mercury Thermometers
• • Batteries
• • Chemicals
• • Home based care (HBC) or durable medical equipment (DME) supplies
• • Class I Schedule – Controlled Substances
