Services at The Counseling Center are offered by appointment. However, we are aware that situations requiring immediate attention can occur for students. If you need CRISIS services, no appointment is needed. If you or someone you know is experiencing a crisis, call 336-334-5874 or come directly to our office during business hours, or contact the UNCG Police at their 24-hour number, 336-334-4444. If you are not in crisis and would like to schedule an appointment call 336.334.5874 or come by the Counseling Center on the 2nd floor of the Student Health Center.


If ANY of the statements below are true for you, you need Crisis services.  


  • I am currently so upset that I may be unable to keep myself or others safe.
  • I have a current plan to attempt suicide or to harm someone else.
  • I have been physically or sexually assaulted within the last few days.
  • Someone close to me has died within the last few days.
  • I am having strange experiences such as hearing voices or seeing things that others do not.
  • I have knowledge of another person being abused or assaulted.
  • I have witnessed a traumatic event within the last few days.
