AlcoholEdu is an online alcohol education program. All incoming freshmen under the age of 21 are required to complete AlcoholEdu. Students who meet these qualifications may access AlcoholEdu by the assigned Fall 2015 deadline (TBA). Transfer and International Students DO NOT have to complete this course even if they are under the age of 21.
More than 35% of the nation’s first-year students at four-year institutions engage with AlcoholEdu for College every year, producing the world’s largest database on college students and alcohol. It remains the only program specifically designed for ALL students — whether they are frequent heavy drinkers, light to moderate drinkers, or non drinkers.
Research indicates that the average student comes to college with a drinking history. With this fact in mind The University of North Carolina Greensboro requires all first year students under the age of 21 to complete AlcoholEdu for College. You must complete the program before you can register for spring semester. This two-part, online, science-based course provides detailed information on the effects of alcohol on the body and mind. It helps students make well-informed decisions about alcohol and cope with peers’ drinking behaviors.
With data from the National Institute of Justice showing that one in five college women (and one in 16 men) will experience some form of non-consensual sexual activity by graduation. Haven – Understanding Sexual Assault™ is an online, science-based course that addresses the critical issues of sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking, which impact countless college students across the country. With this fact in mind The University of North Carolina Greensboro requires all new students (transfer, and international students INCLUDED) to complete Haven. You must complete the course before you can register for spring semester. This program provides detailed information on the issues associated with sexual assault and relationship violence that will help students make well-informed decisions about their own safety and the safety of their peers.
